Jilu Jilu
Wonder why I wanted to write about this song after Kodiya. In fact, I have been meaning to write about “the making of Bheed Hai” for a while. In all honesty, the idea for Jilu Jilu came about after I listened to Kuru Kuru from Couples Retreat. I was inspired to something in that genre. I am pretty hopeful that this song does not resemble Kuru Kuru.
Some trivia as far as the making of Jilu Jilu goes..
- The first song whose lyrics were not written down on a piece of paper during the entire process (even now I don’t have it written down)..Basically pulled the lyrics off my head as I went along
- “Vaanam Vaa..Vaazhthudhu” - This was the first line composed after I had the basic tempo and groove finalized
- Recorded 12 tracks for Audio(vocal) alone
- Overall, there are about 26 tracks
- The song was completed in 4 sessions - total time spent in the studio was approximately 9-10 hours
- The idea to end the song in a sort of quest mode occurred during the 3rd session (the lengthiest session out of the 4 and when all lyrics were finalized and when all vocals were recorded)
- The idea to add chirping of birds came about almost at the eleventh hour and was added literally 10 minutes before the final mastering of the song
- I tried to practice caribbean accent for the english part of the song - but gave up soon enough..so barely managed to pull something off..
